Celebrating Punitha and Sargunan

This is by far the largest and heaviest cake I've made in my caking history : 3 tiers of 8, 10, and 12 inches wide, and weighing about 20kg! This cake took me 3 days to bake, and a lot of arm strength to move around :)

Without much resources found on the internet and based on one photo I found, I started to visualise the methods to bring full bloom blossoms to life. Gladly though, I managed to realise what I imagined!

At 8.30am in the outdoors, I could feel the warmth of Mr Sun working his magic onto me and the cake LOL so I shifted the cake to the air-conditioned room. However, Mr Sun has been treating me well for the flare he extended into the room, so it's actually not so bad after all :D

It's 2 days due, but hey when there's a cake, it's a celebration. Better late than never :)
I made this cake to celebrate the teachers' contribution in my daughter's preschool.
As it will involve young children, I thought that chocolate ganache would suffice as fondant would be too sweet for them.
It's also a time for me to thank each and every teacher for their patience and hardwork to provide quality education for my daughter and her friends. Let's hope everyone enjoys the cake and appreciate Teachers' Day <3

Teachers' Day is today! I always have respect to teachers as they play an important role to mould each and every leader today, and that includes arts :)
I was super delighted to create this set of cupcakes based on Music. One of the biggest reason being I really miss my music lessons when I was young, and I miss my maestro ! Performing on vocal has always been my dream, and although it didn't really happen today, at least I'm singing out loud while piping on these cupcakes :D

Masterclass with Kelvin Chua

Today was such an exciting day! I attended a cake decorating masterclass with Kelvin Chua and facilitated by Sheryl Bito :)
So I learnt the laced piping with royal icing from him today for the cake named 'Bride', and what made the whole event so great was that Kelvin encouraged his students to be flexible on their designs, and because every cake decorating artist has their own flair, we were encouraged to be flexible with what we are most comfortable with, by using the same technique he taught.
The highlight of the technique for 'Bride' is the lace piped with royal icing. I had a sore hand resulting from the piping from 10am til 530pm ! But it's worth it when I saw the laces come to reality!

A Fundraising for Baby Kayden

Sometimes, it only takes a little bit of the effort to create a difference.
Baby Louise was in need of funds to carry out his operations to treat biliary atresia. I called for a fundraising drive to collect as much donations as possible through a bake sale of cupcakes and teamed up with Evie and Bit Nee who assisted me from baking to the last bit - decorations. To my surprise, we managed to collect a total of RM3300 from 348 cupcakes and a cash donation of RM400 :)

However, a day before the fund was to be handled over to the press who was handling Baby Louise's funding, we received the great news that they have collected enough funds. Therefore Baby Louise's funds was channelled to Baby Kayden, who also suffers from the same condition.

I designed the alphabets to represent both Louise and Kayden, and colorful butterflies represent spring. May your recoveries and surgeries go well and lead a colorful, hopeful, and healthy life ahead.
There's really not much else we can do but to give our prayers. May your parents upkeep the spirit of not giving up because there's always a hope when you believe :)

I love designing romantic cakes and cupcakes <3
I created this set with a blend of both gender traits involving the laces and bridal elements to depict the anniversary celebration. Sugar pearls mark eternal elegance, and a framed centerpiece denotes both their initials.

Masterclass with Kelvin Chua

Today was such an exciting day! I attended a cake decorating masterclass with Kelvin Chua and facilitated by Sheryl Bito :)
So I learnt the laced piping with royal icing from him today for the cake named 'Bride', and what made the whole event so great was that Kelvin encouraged his students to be flexible on their designs, and because every cake decorating artist has their own flair, we were encouraged to be flexible with what we are most comfortable with, by using the same technique he taught.
The highlight of the technique for 'Bride' is the lace piped with royal icing. I had a sore hand resulting from the piping from 10am til 530pm ! But it's worth it when I saw the laces come to reality!

I've always adored the crochet lace, so I applied them as edibles onto my cakes. Now that Im attempting sugar cookies, I tried to handpipe the laces on them. It aint perfect but practice makes

A Fundraising for Baby Kayden

Sometimes, it only takes a little bit of the effort to create a difference.
Baby Louise was in need of funds to carry out his operations to treat biliary atresia. I called for a fundraising drive to collect as much donations as possible through a bake sale of cupcakes and teamed up with Evie and Bit Nee who assisted me from baking to the last bit - decorations. To my surprise, we managed to collect a total of RM3300 from 348 cupcakes and a cash donation of RM400 :)

However, a day before the fund was to be handled over to the press who was handling Baby Louise's funding, we received the great news that they have collected enough funds. Therefore Baby Louise's funds was channelled to Baby Kayden, who also suffers from the same condition.

I designed the alphabets to represent both Louise and Kayden, and colorful butterflies represent spring. May your recoveries and surgeries go well and lead a colorful, hopeful, and healthy life ahead.
There's really not much else we can do but to give our prayers. May your parents upkeep the spirit of not giving up because there's always a hope when you believe :)
